  • At the end of 1951 a Mr Carter and Sanders purchased Balfour China Co Ltd and from March 1952 changed the name to Trentham Bone China.

  • By 1957 the business was bankrupt and placed in receivership.

  • Victoria Porcelain (Fenton) Ltd then purchased the moulds and patterns of Trentham Bone China Ltd and renamed their existing business to Victoria & Trentham Potteries Ltd.

NOTE:

Trentham Bone China used the wording 'Royal Crown Pottery" in their marks as this was the name of the factory they operated from.

Not to be confused with Royal Crown Derby.

There were two unrelated company who also used the name "Royal Crown Pottery" - the Royal Crown Pottery Co in Burslem and the Royal Crown Pottery Co in Hanley.
