  • James Herbert Cope was originally in partnership with George Warrilow at the Wellington Works, Stafford Street, Longton as Warrilow & Cope.

  • Warrilow withdrew from the partnership in March 1887 and Cope continued on his own at the Wellington Works. George Warrilow then started business at the Park Place Works as George Warrilow (& Sons).

  • The company J H Cope continued until around 1946/7 when the business closed.

The mountain at the far end of the loch is probably Ben A’an. 

The island is Eilean Molach (or Ellen’s Isle), 
the setting of Sir Walter Scott’s Lady of the Lake.
