The formation of Royal Stafford Tableware:

Barratts of Staffordshire was an earthenware manufacturer at the Overhouse Works in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Following financial difficulties they merged with Royal Stafford China Ltd (props: Thomas Poole and Gladstone China Ltd) of the Cobden Works, Longton to form Royal Stafford Tableware

Thomas Poole had used the trade name "Royal Stafford" from around 1900.

The merged company operated from the Overhouse Works producing both earthenware and bone china.

It appears that the name Royal Stafford Fine China Ltd was in use from July 1992 to May 1994 and then name was changed to Royal Stafford Tableware Ltd. Only earthenware was produced after this name change.

RTS Ltd:

A new company was formed on the 31st January 2007 (company number: 06076341) and this company took over the assets of Royal Stafford Tableware Ltd - the trading name Royal Stafford was retained.

The range of patterns styles were reduced.

Collapse:

In February 2024, following financial collapse due to rising costs and falling orders, administrators were called in to liquidate the company. Around 80 jobs were lost.
