In about 1896 A. J. Wilkinson moved from the old Central Works to the Royal Staffordshire Pottery, both works were in Burslem.

The '1795' has nothing to do with the date of manufacture - it refers back to the origins of the Meigh family pottery.

"PEKIN" is the pattern name

 

Jenny Lind was was a Swedish opera singer, often called the "Swedish Nightingale". One of the most highly regarded singers of the 19th century

Jenny Lind was a popular print - it was an early 1900's replicas of original ware that was produced in the mid 1800's by the Meigh family of potters at the Old Hall Works in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. After the closure of the Old Hall Works in 1902 A J Wilkinson (at the Royal Staffordshire Pottery) bought the Jenny Lind printing plates and continued production of this pattern.

 


 

Iris pattern 

Iris was a popular pattern and seems to have always been produced with the "Royal Staffordshire Pottery"
it was available as a full dinner service in mono-chrome with gilt accents and also with hand painted colour
