Longton Police Station, Sutherland Road, Longton
the 1905 date stone of the
original Longton Police Station
the date stone incorporates a Stafford knot
- one of the few examples which is correctly executed - going from the top
left, the first strand of rope should cross OVER the other rope and not
UNDER as shown on the majority of Stafford knots.
Built in 1905 as
brewery offices, it was later used as Longton Police Station before being
demolished in 1992. A new purpose built police station was built on the
same site. © Staffordshire Past Track
