Sampson Hancock & Sons (Potters) Ltd - Brochure 1935

  • This small brochure was issued by S. Hancock & Sons when they moved in 1935 to the Gordon Works in Hanley - they renamed the factory the Corona Pottery (after the trade name 'Coronaware' that they used).

  • The restarted company was not a success and it finally closed in 1937, having been put into receivership on 23rd March 1937.

  • Photography and setting of the pictures was carried out by West End Commercial Studios, Stoke-on-Trent and printing was by Hitchings Ltd, Hanley.

  • Colour examples of the three patterns "Springtime" "Kensington" "Autumn" are shown. There is a range of 62 decorated shapes and 29 blanks - which were presumably available to purchase for decorating by others.

the photos of the brochure were kindly supplied by Phil Josephs
