There is one grade I and eighteen grade II*
listed buildings in the city.
Grade I
'Buildings of exceptional interest' and only make up three per cent of the
total across England - usually cathedrals and great country houses.
The mausoleum on Stone Road is
Stoke-on-Trent's only grade I listed building. Grade II* are 'particularly important buildings of more than special interest' and make up about five per cent of the total - typically a good manor house or something early or with good interior features or of strong historic interest.
